The trunk line is fedwith explosion protection Ex nA, as theoutput of the power conditioner is voltagelimited. The limitation of power in the junctionboxes is implemented such that thecircuits of the drop line are limited accordingto Ex nL. Therefore working at the fi elddevices during operation is possible andthe segment can be extended up to1900 m max. (Fig. 5).A FOUNDATION fi eldbus network innon-Ex and Ex areas can also be establishedvia a HSE-H1 link.HSE stands for “High Speed Ethernet”and supports Ethernet fi eldbus solutions.In addition to the Ethernet protocol family,the HSE also supports the FOUNDATIONfi eldbus H1 protocol.
