<strong>ACRYLIC</strong> <strong>WORKSHOP</strong> <strong>SUPPLY</strong> <strong>LIST</strong><strong>Instructor</strong>: <strong>Vivian</strong> <strong>Ripley</strong><strong>Paint</strong> - There are many different brands of acrylic paint. The most common ones are probably Liquitex,Golden and Winsor and Newton. Other brands such as Maimeri Brera, Holbein, Van Gogh and Daler-Rowney are fine, too.<strong>Paint</strong> Colors - My choice of colors may vary somewhat from yours. Obviously you need some basics; Ialso include some personal ones.Ultramarine blue – cereulean, cobalt blue and thalo blue are also goodCadmium red – thalo crimson, alizarin are othersCadmium yellow – hansa also goodHooker’s green – sap green, thalo green are othersPayne’s greyDioxazine purple or permanent violetBurnt siennaBurnt umberYellow ochre or raw sinnaCadmium orangeTitanium white(You don’t need to start with all the blues listed or reds, etc. but you will need the ten basics. Orange canbe omitted at first. One color I love is quinacridone gold which may be hard to find.)Brushes - You may use bristle or synthetic brushes made for acrylic painting. I use a #10 (1 inch shortflat), a # 10 filbert, a #6 round all Acrylix by ProArte. I also have #3 and #6 flat bristle. Watercolorbrushes can also be used; especially the rounds, and smaller flats. In any case you will need a 1inch flat;and a 1 ½ inch nylon brush which you can purchase at the hardware store.<strong>Paint</strong>ing Supports – Canvas or canvas boards. You don’t need to start with anything over 16 x 20.Nothing smaller than 12 x 16. Some drawing paper to test colors or you might use canvas in a tabletform.Other Items – water containers, rags for clean up, paper towels, palette knife or painting knife,disposable paper palette, cling wrap if you want to save paint, water spray bottle, old tooth brush, tableeasel if you have one (our room has large easels you may use), drawing pencil and eraser, small sketchpad.Please call me with questions – <strong>Vivian</strong> <strong>Ripley</strong> at 614-451-6254. You may bring examples of your workto the first class! Don’t wear your best clothes to class. Unless washed immediately, acrylics onclothing are permanent.
