Dresden 1999, the Main Prize <strong>at</strong> the Finnish festival Lappeenraanta, and First Prize <strong>at</strong> Short Cuts Cologne 1999,<br />
he was also nomin<strong>at</strong>ed for the Honorary Foreign Student Award/Student Oscar ® 2000 for his film Counting<br />

Having fun, sparking chaos and kicking up a riot<br />
have long been the way of life for high-sea pi -<br />
r<strong>at</strong>es Klaus Stoertebeker and Goedeke Michels.<br />
Endless conquests on the North and Baltic seas<br />
have lent Stoertebeker the reput<strong>at</strong>ion of a rebel<br />
and a revolutionary, and to his loyal troops of<br />
sea pir<strong>at</strong>es he is a living legend. But the constant<br />
fighting and b<strong>at</strong>tling with those lo<strong>at</strong>hed “moneybags”<br />
of the Hanse has worn down the once<br />

When Stoertebeker is seriously wounded in a<br />
