European <strong>Film</strong> Promotion’s “Producers on the Move”<br />
A gradu<strong>at</strong>e in <strong>Film</strong> & Television Production from the University of <strong>Film</strong> & Television “Konrad Wolf ” in<br />
Babelsberg in 1996, Oliver Damian had amassed more than 12 years of professional experience in the film<br />
business before setting up his Berlin/Frankfurt-based company 27 <strong>Film</strong>s Production in summer 2005. The<br />
first completed project was Nana Djordjadze’s tragicomedy The Rainbowmaker which had its world premiere<br />
<strong>at</strong> the Hof <strong>Film</strong> Days in 2008. Apart from being the main producer for a sl<strong>at</strong>e of eight projects, including<br />
new films by Maria von Heland and Goran Rebic, Oliver also particip<strong>at</strong>es as a co-producer in intern<strong>at</strong>ional productions.<br />
He was a partner in the French-<strong>German</strong> drama Dawn of the World by the Iraqi director Abbas<br />
Fahdel, which had its intern<strong>at</strong>ional premiere <strong>at</strong> Pusan in 2008, and The F<strong>at</strong>her of My Children by Mia<br />
Hansen-Løve, the winner of the Special Prize in <strong>Cannes</strong>’ Un Certain Regard in 2009. Shooting is about to begin<br />
on the hilarious sci-fi comedy Iron Sky by Finnish cult director Timo Vuorensola in co-production with Blind<br />
Spot Pictures.<br />
