Angela Schanelec was born in 1962. She studied Acting <strong>at</strong> the College of Music and Performing Arts in<br />
Frankfurt am Main from 1982-1984, and worked <strong>at</strong> the Thalia The<strong>at</strong>er in Hamburg, Berlin’s Schaubuehne and<br />
the Schauspielhaus in Bochum from 1984-1991. She studied <strong>at</strong> the <strong>German</strong> <strong>Film</strong> & Television Academy (dffb)<br />
in Berlin from 1990-1995, gradu<strong>at</strong>ing with My Sister’s Good Fortune, winner of the <strong>German</strong> Critics’<br />
Prize 1996. Her other films include: Schoene gelbe Farbe (1991), Weit entfernt (1991), Prag,<br />
Maerz 92 (1992), Ich bin den Sommer ueber in Berlin geblieben (1993), Places in Cities<br />
(Plaetze in Staedten, 1998) presented <strong>at</strong> <strong>Cannes</strong>’ Un Certain Regard in 1998, Passing Summer<br />
(Mein lang sames Leben, 2001) presented <strong>at</strong> the Berlinale’s Forum in 2001, Marseille (2004),<br />
Nachmittag (2007), and Orly (<strong>2010</strong>), which screened <strong>at</strong> the <strong>2010</strong> Berlinale Forum.<br />
