FACULTY OF<br />
MED I CINE<br />
The Faculty of Medicine is characterised by its research activities and<br />
academic training of doc<strong>to</strong>rs. Patients with severe illnesses are treated<br />
at the University Hospital. Currently 21 institutes, 24 clinics and<br />
numerous central service facilities make up the Faculty of Medicine<br />
and the <strong>Magdeburg</strong> University Hospital.<br />
Around 185 students are enrolled in the medical programme every<br />
year. Numerous scientific symposia, conferences, guest lectures and<br />
training events are held every year in which scientists from Germany<br />
and abroad take part.<br />

The Faculty for the Humanities, Social Sciences and Education (FGSE)<br />
is the largest faculty at the Ot<strong>to</strong> von Guericke University with more<br />
than 5,000 students. The faculty offers bachelor’s and master’s degrees<br />
with a focus on either cultural studies, education or social science,<br />
as well as a teaching degree for vocational schools.<br />

SCIENCES AND EDUCATION<br />
The Faculty of Economics and Management’s four guiding principles<br />
are: the unity of economics and management, theory-based science,<br />
international orientation for research and teaching, and the immanent<br />
application of theory-based science.<br />
