User AnalysisLatest research on the area of multisensory integration seems to dismiss the theorythat has been held from several years, the multiple resource theory (MRT). Therecently developing multisensory approach claims for an information processingbased on the integration of the multiple streams of sensory information coming fromeach of the senses to generate a coherent multisensory representation of theexternal world. That means that the overload of sense information can bedeveloped in two stages of the human information processing, in the modalityspecificlevel and/or in the crossmodal level. Moreover, the research suggests thatthe efficiency of the multisensory information processing could be enhanced if theinformation to the different senses is given from approximately the same position andthe same time (Ho, C. and Spence, C. 2008).Appling this to the actual project means that every sense stream can beoverloaded and also the user can be overloaded in the multisensory integration ofthe different streams. The question now is, can a sense stream be released by theintroduction of other streams inputs? And would it be the overall multisensoryintegration helped or not?23
