Discussion6The discussion will be carried out in four sections depending on what it isdiscussed. These sections are research questions, the results, the methodand future work.Research questionsRegarding the project questions, it must be remarked that they were toocomprehensive for this project. Especially with consideration to that the actualprototype were delayed and it also had to be programmed from scratch. The methodAs described in the introduction, the use of haptic cues by the drivers wheninteracting with physical controls was introduced by Annie Rydstöm in her PhD(Rydström, A. 2009). It was assumed that people will do the same when interactingwith a touch screen device. But people are not used to make use of haptic cueswhen interacting with touch screen devices. That is perhaps one of the main reasonswhy time for learnability is longer than expected. The automatic reaction wheninteracting with a touchable device in an in-vehicle environment is to click on thescreen. This is shown in a participant proceed; even if he had been asked tonavigate, the automatic gesture was to click. Another participant pointed out thelack of haptic feedback in the trainee when the haptic feedback was enabled. Thereason was that navigation was not performed. After the planned trainee, everyparticipant is asked to use both programs, the one with haptic feedback and theone without, as much as they needed. It is then, when he asked for another trainee,to be able to perceive the haptic feedback on navigation. From the study, it was68
