Nursing Best Practice GuidelineSEARCH RESULTS:The search strategy described above resulted in the retrieval <strong>of</strong> 550 abstracts on the <strong>to</strong>pic <strong>of</strong> pressure ulcers.These abstracts were then screened by a research assistant in order <strong>to</strong> identify duplications and assess forinclusion/exclusion criteria. A <strong>to</strong>tal <strong>of</strong> 59 abstracts were identified for article retrieval and quality appraisal.In addition, three recently published clinical practice guidelines were identified for review and criticalappraisal by the panel, using the Appraisal <strong>of</strong> Guidelines for Research and Evaluation (AGREE Collaboration, 2001)instrument.
