Book 2Chapter SevenRequirements of Network Equipment7.1 LAN SwitchThere shall be 7 (Seven) Layer-3 LAN switches at seven TGW sites for connecting localequipment like TGW, GPON OLT, Local Maintenance Console, Softswitch (in concernedsite), Firewall (in concerned site), NMS (in concerned site) etc., and connecting thisnetwork with existing BTCL IP Backbone network.7.1.1 General FeaturesThe LAN switch shall support the following general features. Any deviation shall betreated as “Major Deviation”.a) Spanning Tree Protocol (IEEE 802.1d)b) Rapid Spanning Tree Protocol (RSTP) (IEEE 802.1w)c) Logical Link Control (IEEE 802.2)d) Flow control (IEEE 802.3x)e) TFTP (RFC 783), Telnet (RFC 854) f) it shall support Jumbo Framesf) SNMP v1/v2/v3g) Support for 802.1xh) Multicast IGMP v2 snooping as per RFC 2236i) Multicast group and source port filtersj) Rate limiting per portk) Traffic Shaping per portl) IPv6 ready from day one7.1.2 Network Protocol FeatureThe LAN switch shall support the following network protocol features. Any deviationshall be treated as “Major Deviation”.a) All ports shall work on either half or Full duplex. The System shall supportmanual or auto negotiation feature for defining the half or Full Duplex mode ofoperation.b) Shall generate Syslog and SNMP trap for all the events.7.1.3 VLAN FeaturesThe Core LAN switch shall support the following VLAN features.
