Why did you take up a career as bar manager?<br />
When I stood behind a bar for the first time, it was love at first sight. Having to<br />
communicate with the guests was my greatest incentive for pursuing this career.<br />
What fascinates me most, in terms of the artistic aspects and the craft, is an<br />
interest in alcoholic spirits, and experimenting with how to combine them to<br />
appeal to the senses.<br />
What are the qualities of a good bar manager?<br />
He or she should be a person of many talents. He should be the perfect host and he<br />
needs to possess a high degree of efficiency and precision. He has to be able to keep<br />
an eye on everything, the guests, the team, the atmosphere, drinks etc.<br />
Do you have to know about psychology to be a bar manager?<br />
I would say it’s more of a mix of psychology, insight into human nature, common<br />
sense, and an open and sincere character.<br />
JFK’s Bar has become one of the most popular bars in town. What’s your secret?<br />
The most important ingredients are, without doubt, the team, consistency and<br />
enthusiastic guests who are willing to be inspired. And that is exactly what we<br />
want to achieve every day – to enthuse and to inspire.<br />
Was hat Sie dazu bewegt Ihren Karriereweg als Bar Manager einzuschlagen?<br />
Als ich das erste Mal hinter einem Bartresen stand, war es Liebe auf den ersten<br />
Blick. Vor allem dazu bewegt hat mich der Umgang mit Gästen. Die Liebe zu<br />
Spirituosen, die richtig zusammengefügt eine Komposition für die Sinne sein<br />
können, ist der handwerkliche und künstlerische Aspekt, der mich fasziniert hat.<br />
Was macht für Sie einen guten Bar Manager aus?<br />
Er ist eine Person mit vielen Talenten. Er sollte ein perfekter Gastgeber sein und er<br />
braucht einen hohen Anspruch an Effizienz und Genauigkeit. Er muss einfach ein<br />
Auge für alles haben, Gäste, Team, Stimmung, Getränke etc.<br />
Muss man als Bar Manager Psychologe sein?<br />
Ich würde eher sagen es ist eine Mischung aus einfacher Psychologie,<br />
Menschenkenntnis und einem offenen und ehrlichen Charakter.<br />
Die JFK´s Bar gehört seit kurzem zu den angesagtesten Bars in der Stadt. Was ist<br />
das Geheimrezept?<br />
Die wichtigsten Bestandteile sind sicherlich das Team, Konstanz und vor allem<br />
Gäste, die sich begeistern lassen. Denn genau das ist unser tägliches Ziel.<br />
