New route from Ho Chi Minh City to Beijing

hina is a large tourist market for most countries in
the world, including Vietnam. In the strategy of
tourism development, the Vietnam National
Administration of Tourism ranks Chinese tourists in the
group that gets service priority.
In recent times, economic groups in China in general and
Beijing in particular tend to invest abroad thanks to the
economic expansion. One of the investment destinations
is Vietnam with its advantages in geographic distance
and low labour cost. Currently, Vietnam Airlines is the
only airline that operates non-stop flights between Hanoi
and Beijing, with encouraging results as seat occupancy
of approximately 80%, even some overloading has
emerged during the high season.
Moreover, with the Chinese government's policy to promote
outbound tourism and Ho Chi Minh City residents
seeking new tourism destinations, the travelling volume
between Ho Chi Minh City and Beijing is forecast to post
a strong growth.
Therefore Vietnam Airlines has decided to open the new
route linking Ho Chi Minh City with Beijing from
December 15, 2010 using Airbus 321 airplanes, with 3
flights weekly, departing on Monday, Thursday and
Sunday. Vietnam Airlines will increase the frequency to 4
flights per week in its 2011 summer schedule and will
study the possibility of increasing the frequency to five
flights a week if the market is large enough.
On this occasion, the GLP Program implements the following
promotions:
- Golden Lotus Plus member will be rewarded with 100%
bonus miles more, apart from ordinary bonus miles, for
booking classes C, D, J, Y, K, W, S, B, H, L, T, M when purchasing
and boarding on Vietnam Airlines flights for Ho
Chi Minh City - Beijing - Ho Chi Minh City.
- The promotion is valid from December 15, 2010 to
January 15, 2011.
