New Lapauw washer extractors for
Wormwood Scrubs
Her Majesty’s Prison Service has installed
three new Lapauw Combi C1000 washer
extractors supplied by Armstrong
Commercial Laundry Systems. Wormwood
Scrubs is a prison that has its own inhouse
laundry. The 90 kg machines are a
key element of the laundry which serves a
prison population of 2,500 and employs
25 prisoners. In addition to the prisoner’s personal clothing and bedding,
the laundry processes general work including kitchen linen.
The Combi Cl000 has a 3-compartment cylinder entirely welded in
18/8 stainless steel and supported by a continuous shaft on heavy
double SKF roller bearings. The system gives maximum access to the
drum, which requires two doors to be unlocked when the machine is
at a standstill.
