Amygdaloid form, slightly flattened,with two grooves on each side forming three large, rounded gadroons. The gadroonsclosest to <strong>the</strong> bead edge curve around to join <strong>the</strong> next gadroon on <strong>the</strong> opposite face, sothat four lobes are present in transverse section, those at <strong>the</strong> bead edge being <strong>the</strong> largest.On one face, grooves are <strong>of</strong> uniform depth <strong>and</strong> spacing, while on <strong>the</strong> reverse, grooves are<strong>of</strong>f-center with one groove (that closest to <strong>the</strong> bead perimeter) significantly shorter <strong>and</strong>shallower than <strong>the</strong> o<strong>the</strong>r. Granular surface is light blue-gray with white flecks <strong>and</strong>patches <strong>of</strong> pale reddish-brown staining on ei<strong>the</strong>r face. Fusiform bead with fivelongitudinal flutes that do not extend to bead ends; resultant ribs vary in width. This beadresembles a cogwheel bead in transverse section. Medium blue in color, with pittingvisible throughout; red-brown discoloration more visible in pits <strong>and</strong> in flutes. Plain,medium-large perforation.
