<strong>CCWT</strong> Trainer ProfilesPaul a Ha y denPaula Hayden is a social worker and has worked with children andfamilies for over 25 years, she has Masters Degree from theUniversity of Sydney and is a highly experienced independent trainingconsultant who consults to OOHC providers across AustraliaSince coming to Australia 16 years ago her substantive areas haswork has been in OOHC she has worked for Burnside and Barnardosand co-authored Shared Stories Shared Lives the highly successfultraining package for foster carers and Step by Step a competencybased assessment tool. The success of both tools has led Paula toprovide training, consultancy in Tasmania, Victoria, Canberra andAdelaide.In September 2006 Paula resigned as the Social Work TrainingCoordinator at the Westmead Children’s Hospital to concentrate onher growing consultancy business. Among other things she convenessix Practice Supervision Groups for Docs managers; she hasdeveloped on going training for Docs managers re working withAuthorised carers and Working with Birth Families and is currently rewriting the Departments OOHC package.Paula presents regularly at conferences and has been publishedseveral times. Paula is also currently undertaking research withMarilyn McHugh University of New South Wales on the Retention ofFoster Carers.Paula has a reputation for being innovative and creative and formaking the training environment a rich and interactive one.Peter S l atte ryPeter Slattery has worked in direct service and training in thecommunity, youth and health fields in Australia and overseas for over20 years, working with young people in schools, refuges, camps andpublic forums, and training adults in organisational development,conflict management and change strategies. Peter has a CertificateIV in Workplace Training and blends therapy, theatre and education inall areas of his work.
