Through payingcloser attention to the role and attributes ofpoint guards we will more likely to identifyand developing world class players whocan compete with the best in the world.Coaches Must Be Prepared ToDevelop The Point GuardsThe development of Point guards should bedebated and compared at all levels.Whether it is closest to nature rather thannurture debate, or science more than artshould not stop us from developingstrategies and programmes to better coachand develop point guards. The fact is that the skills are learned andrefined and developed over a long termperiod. Confidence and technical abilityare the first stages but what we areconcerned with is the development ofeffective point guards in the longer term. This will take time and will take diligencefrom coaches in identifying talent.
