Safety officer shall advise the appropriate civil law enforcement authority of such violationand that an investigation is being made. The Department of Public Safety shall takewhatever action may be necessary, legal and proper within the scope of its authoritywith respect to such violation, for the protection of persons and property on campus,and shall cooperate fully with the law enforcement authorities in the apprehensionof suspects, preservation of evidence, aid to victims and all other aspects of the case.Complainants should prepare a complete factual incident report after the occurrenceof each violation and a copy thereof sent to the Department of Public Safety. Saidreports shall be prepared whether or not the violation is also investigated by a civil lawenforcement authority.If the student violates an ordinance on state, federal or foreign country law that is notassociated with a college program or activity, or on HCC property, HCC will not takeaction and will allow applicable laws to impose any fine/penalty.3. Prohibited ConductThe following acts shall be deemed as misconduct on college property/site, includingHawks Landing, or at college sponsored activities under this Code:178A. Intentionally or recklessly causing physical or psychological harm to anyperson or intentionally or recklessly causing reasonable apprehension ofsuch harm.B. All forms of harassment including but not limited to slurs, jokes, and otherverbal, graphic, or physical conduct relating to an individual’s sex, pregnancy,sexual orientation, race, national origin, color, age, religion including unwelcomereligious persuasion, disability, marital or other protected status.C. All forms of threatening behavior including, but not limited to, physical,verbal, or psychological threats.D. Commission on or off campus of any offense involving danger to the personor others, as specified in the Florida Criminal Code, or in a comparablelaw of the jurisdiction in which said offense was committed if other thanFlorida.E. Unauthorized use, possession or storage of any weapon(s), firearm(s) and/or explosives of any kind.F. Intentionally initiating or causing to be initiated any false report, warning orthreat of fire, explosion or other emergency.G. Intentionally or recklessly interfering with normal college activities including,but not limited to studying, teaching, research, extracurricular activities,job placement activities, college administration, or fire, police security oremergency.H. Knowingly violating the terms of any disciplinary sanction imposed in accordancewith this Code.
