ORAL ABSTRACTS - FRIDAY, 22 MAY 2015thanks to semi-directive interview close to fifteen ex-apprentices (between 21 and 27 years old). The potent result of this research shows that ex-apprentices pass by a career change process whichis divided into four phases (trauma, dedication, dilemma and metanoia). Moreover, when wecompare the career change process of these young players, we can observe social class differencesin socials conditions. On the one side, the ex-apprentices from popular class (7/8) are present in thededication and dilemma phases and still hope to become professional footballer many years later. On the other side, we have got ex-apprentices from upper class (7/7)in the metanoia phase. All ofthem have totally transformed their mind in order to build an other professional career. Finally wecan say that ex-apprentices’ calling for the work of professional footballer slows the achievement oftheir career change process. But for those who come from popular class,it’s often means aprecarious lifestyle and social instability.163
