Figure 7.1 shows the wind speeds and air pressure <strong>at</strong> the culmin<strong>at</strong>ion of the hurricane.<br />
The zenith of the hurricane lasted for about 2.5 hours, with two peaks divided by a<br />
distinct drop in wind speed in between.<br />
During the storm, parts of the electrical system were pushed out of their sockets - as<br />
earlier mentioned - as large waves, approxim<strong>at</strong>ely 6 m plus 2 meter high w<strong>at</strong>er level,<br />
impinged on the walls of the measurement shed loc<strong>at</strong>ed <strong>at</strong> level 6.2 <strong>at</strong> about 23.50<br />
hours. This caused disconnection of the power supply to the primary measuring system,<br />
and hence a total system shut-down of the primary met system for the following 10<br />
