At Merrin View House, Dublin, on the 28th ult., Mrs <strong>Robert</strong> M'Meikan, of a daughter.<br />

At Newton Stewart, on the 4th instant, the wife of Mr Andrew Forsyth, of a daughter.<br />

At the Villino Lustrini, Florence, on the 20th ultimo, Mrs William Houston Stewart, of a daughter.<br />

On the 5th instant, Mrs John Hyslop, Queen's Cross, Dudley, of a daughter.<br />

DEATHS<br />

Here at Hillhead, on the 8th inst., of small pox, James youngest son of Mr John Gray, joiner, aged 5 years.<br />

At the Home Farm of Dunskey, on the 6th inst., after a lingering illness, Mr John Stewart, aged 54 years,<br />

much regretted.<br />

At Portpatrick, on the 7th instant, Mrs M'Millan, aged 72 years.<br />

At Port Logan, on the 9th instant, after a protracted illness, borne with Christian resignation, Margaret,<br />

aged 22 years, eldest daughter of Mr Davidson, of the Coast Guard.<br />

At Glenluce, on the 4th inst., after a protracted illness, borne with meeknes and resignation, Jane<br />

M'Keachie, wife of the late Mr M'Chleary, of Boreland, advanced in years.<br />

At Gorbals, Newton Stewart, on the 7th instant, Mrs M'Haffie, relict of Mr John M'Haffie, aged 84 years.<br />

At Ardachie, Kirkcowan, Jane, daughter of Mr Gordon, farmer, aged 22 years.<br />

At Barrhill, rather suddenly, on the 6th inst., Mr John Service, cooper. He had been complaining for some<br />

time, but on the evening he died he was walking through the house, dropped down, and expired in a few<br />

hours afterwards.<br />

At Walsall, on the 7th instant, <strong>Robert</strong> Douglas, Esq., coal merchant and cement manufacturer, eldest son of<br />

Mr <strong>Robert</strong> Douglas, late of Chapel Croft, near Castle Douglas, aged 35 years, much regretted.<br />

At 53 Barton Crescent, London, on the 28th ult., Mrs Isabella Martin, relict of the Rev. Edward Irving.<br />

At Barnkirk, on the 11th instant, the wife of Mr Picken, turner, Barnkirk, of a son.<br />
