Antonia TatchellGUEST (VIC)“The real joy for me isthe deep investigationof colour. I love to playwith the application ofpaint and to challenge thenotion that there is no onesingle colour to an object,rather an assortmentof hues assembledtogether in differentorders. My subjects havedirect meaning to myexperiences growing up inthe 70’s. I have struggledwith what it means to bea white Australian andcontinually question ‘Whatis my place? What is myculture?’. In 2008she completed a Diploma of Visual Arts and the experience changed the way she viewed and practiced art.She has painted full time since then; from her shed in Aireys Inlet, Victoria to her bedroom in Kuranda, QLD, tocurrently a studio in Brunswick.
