Canone experience life in itsfullness without losing one’sinnocence?InnocenceOil on board, 90 x 50cm, 2011NFSLiezel grew up as the daughter of a South African artist, teacher and potter. After completing school she studiedat the University of Pretoria in South Africa completing her Bachelors in Art specialising in Information Design.She worked in the South African advertising industry for 9 years, developing a career as an Art Director. Stillfeeling the pull towards Fine <strong>Arts</strong>, she gave up design and started painting full time in 2009. Specialising in oilon mixed media, she has exhibited in South Africa during two exhibitions in 2010 and her works are in privatecollections in South Africa and Australia. In 2011 she held her first Australian exhibition at Brunswick StreetGallery. Her work is influenced by the Pre-Raphaelite movement of the 1840’s and their return to abundantdetail, intense colours and complex compositions.50 URBAN CREATURES
