Withone of the most up-to-date foundries <strong>in</strong>Europe and over 230 motivated employees,we are an expert partner <strong>in</strong> the supply ofready-to-<strong>in</strong>stall mach<strong>in</strong>ed products of thehighest technical standard.Back <strong>in</strong> 2003, we received the first orderfor the technical development and manufactureof a hollow rotor shaft prototype.The systematic <strong>in</strong>tegration of cast<strong>in</strong>g andsolidification simulation was and is <strong>in</strong>dispensablefor the technological developmentphase. In dialogue with the customer,modifications can be <strong>in</strong>corporated dur<strong>in</strong>gthe design process until the desired functionalityof the component is f<strong>in</strong>allyharmonised with the required cast<strong>in</strong>ggeometry and a m<strong>in</strong>imum-risk technologyhas been produced for the cast<strong>in</strong>g.As a result of this thorough preparation,<strong>in</strong> that first order we were able to producea perfect component right from the veryfirst cast<strong>in</strong>g, not to mention the further80 cast<strong>in</strong>gs s<strong>in</strong>ce then.Mechanical mach<strong>in</strong><strong>in</strong>g demands a greatdeal of the manufactur<strong>in</strong>g process, withbear<strong>in</strong>g seat tolerances of ISO standardtolerance class 5 and contours with complicatedmathematical functions, amongother th<strong>in</strong>gs. In addition to the hollowrotor shaft for the w<strong>in</strong>d turb<strong>in</strong>e, which hasnow been developed <strong>in</strong>to a 6 MW plant, wealso supply the two bear<strong>in</strong>g hous<strong>in</strong>gs, thebrake disk, various covers and pressurer<strong>in</strong>gs.
