Equipped with a fullpower converter and synchronous generator,the turb<strong>in</strong>e is ideally prepared to complywith all current and future grid coderequirements. Contrary to the trend, e.n.o.energy systems has given preference toslipr<strong>in</strong>g-less electrically excited synchronousmach<strong>in</strong>es rather than permanent magnetgenerators. The design eng<strong>in</strong>eers have alsopaid particular attention to the question ofcomponent service life. The realisation of adifferential concept for the ma<strong>in</strong> gearbox,for example, achieves an optimised loadflow and thus an extended lifetime, whileat the same time provid<strong>in</strong>g for lower weightand a more compact construction. The useof tubular steel towers enables hub heightsof 103 and 123 metres, guarantee<strong>in</strong>g anoptimum cost-yield ratio for the relevantonshore sites.W<strong>in</strong>d turb<strong>in</strong>es from e.n.o. energy aremanufactured at a plant <strong>in</strong> the immediatevic<strong>in</strong>ity of the sea port <strong>in</strong> Rostock.
