[03]ProspectsThe company strategy is oriented towardsexpansion in the future too. For the comingyears, Ventotec is planning new wind farmsin Europe, e.g. in Spain, France and Poland,as well as onshore projects in Germany. InFrance, the first overseas wind farm initiatedby Ventotec is already feeding power to thegrid; other wind farms will follow here in thenext few years. Planning permission for someof these is already in place and a number ofthe wind turbines for the new projects havealready been ordered. As in the past, theworld’s leading manufacturer of turbines, theDanish company VESTAS, is one of the mainsuppliers for the wind farms planned byventotec. However, turbines made by GEEnergy, Fuhrländer, Enercon and Nordex havealso been used on a number of occasions.Intense exposure to a wide range of areassurrounding a renewable energy project continuesto open up new opportunities for thecompany. So, for example, the area of repoweringis becoming increasingly significant tothe alliance. In May 2010, Ventotec’s firstrepowering project was sold to a Danishinvestor group, as this project fulfils all therequirements specified by § 30 of the GermanRenewable Energy Sources Act (EEG) forreceipt of the repowering bonus.
