<strong>Series</strong> <strong>2000</strong> <strong>Communications</strong> <strong>Handbook</strong>Devicenet6.5 TROUBLESHOOTINGNo <strong>Communications</strong>:• Check the wiring carefully, paying particular attention to the continuity of the CAN-Hand CAN-L connections to the scanner. Ensure that the correct terminals have beenwired to.• Is the REM beacon OFF? Make sure that there is 11-25Vdc supplied to the V+ and V-terminals. The controller will not communicate without power supplied.• Access the # list in configuration level and check that the function (9.) is set to,. If not, the controller is not configured for communications.• Check that all devices including the scanner card or module have the same Baud Rate.• Check that the Node Address (5) in the + list is correct and unique for thenetwork configuration in use.• Ensure that a DeviceNet communications board is installed. It can be identified bychecking for the assembly number AH135699. This requires removing the card from thecarrier PCB.• Ensure that the network is correctly configured and the configuration has beendownloaded correctly to the DeviceNet scanner.• Verify the ESD file in use is correct by loading it into the DeviceNet Configuration tool.This will check the format.• Verify that the maximum line length for the baud rate in use is not exceeded (see tableabove).• Ensure that the both ends of the DeviceNet network trunk line are correctly terminated(see wiring diagram).
