Founded in 1949 in the heart of Florence, Italy, the Agresti brand aims to respect the artistic tradition of the historic city with its high-quality products, which, in addition to pen boxes, include ladies’ and men’s jewelry boxes, humidors, games, watch cases and stationery items. the Agresti factory, located in Scandicci, Italy, just outside of the downtown area, operates with some of the most advanced technol- ogies available and performs all stages of production, from raw materials to the finished product. every Agresti product is handcrafted from exotic and domestic woods in a variety of finishes, from natural to very high polish. Finding these rare resources, coupled with selecting only the best quality, makes Agresti wood products quite unique and beautiful. All Agresti woods are manufactured to the company’s uncompromising quality standards. In order to meet these standards, the production process is rather long and involved. Agresti veneers are glued to a twelve-layer poplar panel, laminated in opposite directions to prevent warping. the panels are then sanded, the holes filled with stucco and then sprayed twice. After cutting and modeling each style, the whole process of sanding, filling and spraying is repeated two more times. At this point, the item is now ready for the delicate final finishing process.
