1. PLAYED UNDER MANAGEMENT OF QC[a] All matches shall be played in accordance with the current Laws of Cricket, including Experimental Laws asrecognised for the time being by Cricket Australia and as amended by the Board of Queensland Cricket onadvice of the Grade Committee.[b] The following Cricket Australia Playing Condition adopted in 2010/2011 will apply to all Grade Competitions:For the purposes of Law 42.15 [bowler attempting to run out non-striker], the bowler is permitted, beforeentering his delivery stride, to attempt to run out the non-striker. Whether the attempt is successful or not, theball shall not count as one of the over. If the bowler fails in an attempt to run out the non-striker, the umpireshall call and signal dead ball as soon as possible.[c] The following Cricket Australia Playing Condition adopted for season 2011/2012 will apply to all GradeCompetitions:Should either batsman intentionally change direction whilst running between the wickets to block a run-outchance this shall be deemed contrary to the Laws (37.1). The batsman shall be given out on appeal from thefielding side.2. CLUBS[a] The Clubs competing shall be:[i] Western Suburbs District[ii] Valley District[iii] Toombul District[iv] Northern Suburbs District[v] University of Queensland[vi] Redlands[vii] South Brisbane District[viii]Sandgate-Redcliffe District[ix] Wynnum-Manly District[x] Gold Coast District[xi] Beenleigh/Logan[xii] Sunshine Coast[b] Unless the Grade Committee otherwise decides, each metropolitan based Club shall be represented by at leastone team in each of First Grade, The Alan Pettigrew Shield, The Norm McMahon Shield, The Bob SpenceShield, The Roy Tanner Shield, The WEP Harris Shield, The Under 18 Competition and The Women’sCompetitions.[c] The Grade Committee may give permission for non-metropolitan based Clubs (specifically Beenleigh/Logan,Gold Coast and Sunshine Coast) to nominate teams for any or all of The Norm McMahon Shield, The BobSpence Shield, The Roy Tanner Shield, The WEP Harris Shield, The Under 18 Competition and The Women’sCompetitions.[d] If following the receipt of team nominations from Clubs, there is an uneven number of teams in a particularcompetition, the Grade Committee shall call for further nominations from Clubs to field a second team in thatcompetition. If following this process a bye is required then it must apply to the lowest grade, being The WEPHarris Shield Competition.3. MEMBERSHIP QUALIFICATIONSEach Club shall possess the following qualifications:[a] A membership roll of a minimum of eleven [11] players per nominated team.[b] Unless the Grade Committee otherwise approves, the possession or lease of more than one first grade standardground and wicket approved by the Grade Committee. For the upkeep of its grounds and wickets, each Clubshall be responsible, even if necessary, to the extent of engaging a competent grounds man. The GradeCommittee shall be the judge of the necessity in all cases, and any directions which it may give in this mattershall be complied with by the Club concerned. In the event of failure to comply with any such direction, theGrade Committee may take such action as it may think just.4. AGE QUALIFICATIONS[a] The Under 18 Competition shall consist of players who are under eighteen [18] years of age on the thirty first[31] day of August preceding the particular season in which the competition is played.[b] No male player shall play in any grade competition until he is at least fourteen [14] years of age as at thecommencement of the match. There will be no exceptions to this regulation.11
