Playing ConditionsTWENTY20 MATCHESThese Playing Conditions apply for all Twenty20 matches in the following competitions. Where competitions areindividually identified, such Playing Conditions are to apply to that competition only.First Grade, The Alan Pettigrew, Norm Mcmahon, Bob Spence, Roy Tanner and WEP Harris ShieldsKatherine Raymont ShieldThe Sunday Legends Competition1. PLAYING CONDITIONSThe Regulations governing Grade Competition Matches and the Playing Conditions for One Day Matches shallapply except as varied below.1.1 Player EligibilityThe Sunday Legends CompetitionPlayers selected to represent their Club in the Sunday Legends Competition must not have played in either FirstGrade or The Alan Pettigrew Shield in that season.1.2 SubstitutesOnce the match has commenced substitute fielders shall not be permitted unless a player sustains an injuryduring the game.1.3 Law 2.5 Fielder Absent or Leaving the Field will apply as modified below:(a) If a fielder fails to take the field with their side at the start of the match or at any later time,or leaves the field during a session of play, the umpire shall be informed of the reason fortheir absence, and they shall not thereafter come onto the field during a session of playwithout the consent of the umpire (See Law 2.6). The umpire shall give such consent as soonas practicable. If the player is absent from the field for longer than eight minutes:(i) The player shall not be permitted to bowl in that innings after their return until they havebeen on the field for at least that length of playing time for which they were absent.(ii) The player shall not be permitted to bat unless or until, in the aggregate, they havereturned to the field and/or their side’s innings has been in progress for at least thatlength of playing time for which they have been absent or, if earlier when their side haslost five wickets.(b) The restrictions in (i) and (ii) above shall not apply if the player has suffered an externalblow (as opposed to an internal injury such as a pulled muscle) whilst participating earlier inthe match and consequently been forced to leave the field. Nor shall it apply if the player hasbeen absent for very exceptional and wholly acceptable reasons (other than injury or illness).(c) In the event of a fieldsman already being off the field at the commencement of aninterruption in play through ground, weather or light conditions, they shall be allowed tocount any such stoppage time as playing time, provided that they personally inform theumpires when they are fit enough to take the field had play been in progress.2. DURATION OF MATCH(a) Matches will consist of one innings per side, each innings being limited to 20 overs.(b) A minimum of 10 overs per team shall constitute a match.44
3. HOURS OF PLAY AND INTERVALSFirst Grade, The Alan Pettigrew, Norm McMahon, Bob Spence, Roy Tanner, WEP Harris andKatherine Raymont ShieldsMatch 110:00am - 11:20am Session 111:20am - 11:35am Interval11:35am - 12:55pm Session 2Match 22:00pm - 3:20pm Session 13:20pm - 3:35pm Interval3:35pm - 4:55pm Session 2In the event that a team that is required to travel between venues, is delayed by the first match and or traffic,and are not present 15 minutes prior to the scheduled time for the commencement of the second match, thehours of play (including the intervals) shall be postponed by 15 minutes. Should there be any further delaysdue to traffic, Playing Condition 4.2 shall apply.3.1 Hours of Play – FinalsThe hours of play for Semi-Finals and Finals shall be determined by the Grade Committee.3.2 Interval between Innings(a) If the innings of the team batting first is completed prior to the scheduled time for the interval, the intervalshall take place immediately and the innings of the team batting second will commence correspondinglyearlier.(b) In circumstances where the side bowling first has not completed the allotted number of overs by thescheduled or re-scheduled cessation time for the first innings, the umpires shall reduce the length of theinterval by the amount of time that the first innings overran. The minimum time for the interval will be 10minutes.(c) On all occasions where play is delayed or interrupted the umpires will reduce the length of the interval to10 minutes.3.3 Intervals for DrinksNo drinks intervals are permitted. An individual player may be given a drink either on the boundary edge or atthe fall of a wicket, on the field, provided that no playing time is wasted. No other drinks shall be taken ontothe field without the permission of the umpires. Any player taking drinks onto the field shall be dressed inproper cricket attire.3.4 Extra TimeNo extra time shall be permitted to make up for any time lost.4. LENGTH OF INNINGS4.1 In an uninterrupted match [ie. The match is neither delayed nor interrupted]4.1.1 Each team shall bat for 20 overs unless all out earlier.4.1.2 If the team fielding first fails to bowl the required number of overs by the scheduled time for the cessationof the first innings, play shall continue until the required number of overs has been bowled and PlayingCondition 11 shall apply. The team batting second shall receive its full quota of 20 overs irrespective of thenumber of overs it bowled in the scheduled time for cessation of the first innings.4.1.3 If the team batting first is dismissed in less than 20 overs, the team batting second shall be entitled to batfor 20 overs.4.1.4 If the team fielding second fails to bowl 20 overs by the scheduled time for the cessation of the secondinnings, the hours of play for the match shall, subject to conditions of ground, weather and light, beextended until the required number of overs has been bowled or a result has been achieved and PlayingCondition 11 shall apply.45
