THE KONICA MINOLTA WOMEN’SCOMPETITIONSThe Second Grade ShieldPlaying ConditionsThese Playing Conditions apply for both Twenty20 and 35 over matches in the Second Grade Shield.1. LAWS OF CRICKETExcept as varied hereunder, the Laws of <strong>Cricket</strong> as designated by the MCC and CA, and as designated by theGrade Committee shall apply.2. HOURS OF PLAY, DURATION OF MATCHES AND INTERVALS2.1 HoursTwenty20 matches (except were otherwise indicated on the list of fixtures):First Session Interval Second Session12:00pm – 1:20pm 1:20pm – 1:35pm 1:35pm – 2:55pm(80 minutes) (15 minutes) (80 minutes)35 Over matches:First Session Interval Second Session12:00pm – 2:00pm 2:00pm – 2:30pm 2:30pm – 4:30pm2.1.1 In normal circumstances, play shall commence at the time specified in 2.1 above andcontinue with only one interval until the completion of the game.2.1.2 Should play be interrupted, the umpires shall be empowered to extend play. If no more than60 minutes of play is lost; the extension of play shall equal the amount of time lost. If morethan 60 minutes of play is lost, the extension of play shall not exceed 60 minutes.Note: In the event of a match concluding early, the Clubs may play another limited overs match, upuntil the scheduled cessation time. Premiership points will not apply.2.2 Interval between Innings2.2.1 If the innings of the team batting first is completed prior to the scheduled time for theinterval, the interval shall take place immediately and the innings of the team batting secondwill commence correspondingly earlier.2.2.2 In circumstances where the side bowling first has not completed the allotted number of oversby the scheduled or re-scheduled cessation time for the first innings, the umpires shall reducethe length of the interval by the amount of time that the first innings overran. The minimumtime for the interval will be 10 minutes in a Twenty20 match or 20 minutes in a 35 overmatch.2.2.3 Applying to Twenty20 matches, on all occasions where play is delayed or interrupted theumpires will reduce the length of the interval to 10 minutes.2.3 Intervals for DrinksTwenty20 matches:No drinks intervals are permitted. An individual player may be given a drink either on theboundary edge or at the fall of a wicket, on the field, provided that no playing time is wasted. Noother drinks shall be taken onto the field without the permission of the umpires. Any player takingdrinks onto the field shall be dressed in proper cricket attire.35 over matches:One drinks break shall be allowed in each innings of 35 overs, and shall normally be taken after the17 th over. In the case of extreme heat, an extra drinks break may be taken with the agreement of theumpires and both captains.52
