22. HOURS OF PLAY[a] The playing season shall commence as soon as practicable after the First [1st] September each year. The playinghours for each Grade are set out in the following schedule:Grade Commencement Lunch Tea CessationFirst Grade &12pm - 2:30pm -10:00amThe Alan Pettigrew Shield12:30pm 3pm5:00pmThe Norm McMahon, Bob Spence,2:45pm -12:15pmN/ARoy Tanner & WEP Harris Shields3:15pm5:45pmThe Under 18 Competition 11:00am N/A1:30pm -2:00pm4:30pm[b] Subject to the Laws of <strong>Cricket</strong> except in the following cases namely:[i] When a match is completed.[ii] Where play becomes impossible on account of the state of the ground.[iii]Where play is stopped due to light conditions.[c] Additional Hour: The following shall apply to First Grade, The Alan Pettigrew, Norm McMahon, Bob Spence,Roy Tanner, WEP Harris Shields and The Under 18 Competition.[i] In the event of play being suspended for any reason other than normal intervals, the playing time on that day,shall be extended by the amount of time lost up to a maximum of one hour. In these circumstances, theminimum number of overs to be bowled shall be in accordance with Regulation 29.[ii] If the start of play is delayed, the scheduled intervals shall be delayed by the same amount of time to amaximum of one hour.[iii] If play has been suspended for 30 minutes or more prior to the commencement of the scheduled tea interval,the tea interval shall be delayed for half an hour. If any further playing time is lost, additional time of up to amaximum of one hour per day shall be added to the playing hours for the next or subsequent day[s] asrequired. Of this additional time the first 30 minutes or less time shall be added to the first session. Howeverunder no circumstances shall the rescheduled cessation time be extended to more than one hour beyond thecessation time as set in the above Hours of Play. The words “scheduled cessation time” used hereafter shallalso mean any rescheduled time as advised by the umpires in accordance with the above regulation. Playshall be deemed to commence when the umpire calls “Play”.[iv] If play has earlier been extended beyond the original cessation time, play may recommence prior to therescheduled cessation time provided that playing conditions are fit for play in accordance with theRegulations governing Grade Competition Matches. If play has not earlier been extended beyond the originalcessation time and players are off the field at the original cessation time due to ground, weather or light, playshall cease for the day.23. INTERVALS AND LIGHTNING[a] Unless otherwise provided herein the following intervals shall be taken as specified in Regulation 22:[i] In the event of the ground, weather or light conditions causing a suspension of play, the umpires, afterconsultation with the captains, may decide in the interests of time-saving, to bring forward the time of theluncheon interval [First Grade and The Alan Pettigrew Shield].[ii] If an innings ends or there is a stoppage caused by weather or bad light within 10 minutes of the agreedtime for the luncheon interval [First Grade and The Alan Pettigrew Shield], the interval shall be takenimmediately. The interval shall be of the allocated length and the time remaining in the session of play shallbe added to the length of the next session. No extra allowance shall be made for the 10 minute intervalbetween innings.[iii] If an innings ends or there is a stoppage caused by weather or bad light within 30 minutes of the agreedtime for the tea interval, the interval shall be taken immediately. The interval shall be of the agreed lengthand, if applicable, shall include the 10 minute interval between innings.[iv] If at the agreed time for the tea interval, nine wickets are down, play shall continue for a period notexceeding 30 minutes or until the innings is concluded.[v] The tea interval shall be of 30 minutes duration for First Grade and The Alan Pettigrew, Norm McMahon,Bob Spence, Roy Tanner, WEP Harris Shields and The Under 18 Competition from the specified time or atthe conclusion of the over in progress at the above time subject to the circumstances provided for in Law16.3, 16.4 and 16.5.19
