1. IntroductionThis document has been drawn up to inform all Media members about the AccreditationProcedure to be followed on the occasion of Pescara 2009 Mediterranean Games.All information necessary to organise and manage the accreditation procedure forinternational sports events has been taken into consideration in drawing up thisdocument.It allows all the members belonging to any Media category to properly identify and fill inthe Accreditation Forms (Application Forms).The Accreditation Procedure is intended to identify the people and their roles in theframework of the XVI Mediterranean Games - Pescara 2009.All participants must be accredited.Accreditation is a complex procedure whereby a special identification document is issued(badge or accreditation) to identify and control the people who are entitled to use specialservices (means of transport, catering, communication, etc.) or access restricted zones(areas, buildings and dedicated rooms).During the Pescara 2009 sport event, accreditation will be the only valid identitydocument and it will be used as an entry pass to access the event venues (competitionvenues, press centre, Mediterranean Village...)The Accreditation System will use a three-language automated application (Italian, Frenchand English) to handle all the accreditation requests, thus simplifying the procedure thatentitles different categories to different rights and privileges.The table below shows the identification codes assigned to each category (for additionaldetails on the sub-categories and relevant functions, please refer to chapter 8.0).3
