2. General preparation for use2.1 Special safety instructions• Always turn off PTO shaft before carrying out servicing, maintenance, repair or assembly workon the rotary swather. Shut down the engine and remove the ignition key.Secure tractor and rotary swather against rolling away!• The maximum drive speed is 540 r.p.m.• Actuating components such as ropes, drawing cables and hydraulic hoses as well as electricalcables should be laid in such a way that they cannot be activated unintentionally or come intocontact with the tractor wheels. Risk of accidents!• <strong>No</strong>-one may remain between the tractor and the rotary swather during raising and loweringoperations or below the raised swather arms. Extreme risk of injury!• Before switching on the PTO shaft, ensure that there is no-one in the danger area around therotary swather. Risk of accidents!• Check that the protective devices are fitted in accordance with the guidelines for operation andfor using public highways!Check that the lighting is functioning properly.• The operating personnel may not leave the tractor during operation!Ensure other persons leave the danger area!Put the operation device to the position where thepossibility of unintentional raising or lowering isexcluded, before attaching and removing implements atthe three-point linkage!Special care should be taken when coupling/uncouplingimplements to/from the tractor!Risk of crushing and cutting injuries in the vicinity of thethree-point linkage!2.2 Preparations on the tractor2.2.1 Lifting device on the tractor (three-point linkage)The swather is equipped with category I and II couplinglugs for the three-point hydraulics.• The tractor lower link arms shouldalways be set so that the lifting pointsfor the lower link arms are always thesame distance from the ground. Thelower link arms should be fixed bylimiting chains or rods so that theimplement cannot swing to the sideduring transport or when working.KS-0-03014
