The module will be largely student-led, with most ofthe work centred around individualpractice. Students will receive tutorialsupport at the beginning and end ofthe module.Teaching methods and resourcesModules are normally taught vialectures, seminars and practicalworkshops. The Major Project isresearch-based and student-led,with supporting tutorials. Visitingspeakers and other activities arearranged as appropriate. You areencouraged to make full use oflibrary and IT resources within theUniversity, and ample time will bescheduled in studios and workstationlabs for independent study.Assessment methodsAssessment takes the form ofindividual assignments for eachmodule. These generally consist of a portfolio of practical work withsupporting written documentation.Context and Methodology and theMajor Project also involve small-scale dissertations.Entry requirementsWe offer places on the basis of ourassessment of the student’s quality,potential and commitment, and theirability to benefit from the course.Normally, but not invariably, astudent will have a first degree.Applications are invited fromcandidates with a range of academicdisciplines and from a variety ofnational backgrounds. Applicantsshould submit a portfolio with theirapplication, comprising no morethan three pieces of representativework.
