In Portugal the majority of manure from swine is treated in anaerobic lagoons (84.5 percent) contrary to what IPCC considers default (0 per cent). This MMS shows the highest CH4conversion factor among all management systems which explains the higher IEF for swine inPortugal.During the 2013 <strong>inventory</strong> preparation process an inconsistency was found concerning dataallocation on pig farms methane recovery systems (this recovery was accounted in 6.B.2). Tocorrect this issue, the methane recovered in pigfarms is now considered in 4.B. total CH4emissions instead of 6.B.2.6.3.2.4 Activity DataIn a consistent manner livestock numbers are the same that were used in previous subcategory:CH 4 from enteric fermentation.
