2918. "THE ART OF REVOLVER SHOOTING" BY<br />

WALTER WINANS This is a hardcover 1911 reprint by The<br />

Knickerbocker Press of Winan's 1901 magnum opus and is in<br />

excellent condition with a blue cloth binding that has embossed<br />

gold printing on the spine. The book is 349 pages in length with<br />

many excellent engraved and photographed illustrations highlighting<br />

Winans' expert advice and opinions regarding all aspects<br />

of the revolver from target shooting at Bisley to firing at pursuers<br />

while on horseback. A previous owner's name is written in ink<br />

inside the front cover and the pages exhibit only mild age toning<br />

around the edges. The book comes with a removeable protective<br />

acetate jacket and would be a fabulous addition to any<br />

2919. "THE SPORTING RIFLE" BY WALTER WINANS This is a hardcover 1908 first edition by The<br />

Knickerbocker Press and has a dark brown cloth cover with embossed gold printing on the front and spine.<br />

The book is 217 pages in length and full of Winans' expert advice on both target and hunting riflery along<br />

with numerous illustrations showing Winans hunting for various game throughout Europe. The book is in<br />

excellent overall condition with only minor age toning around the edges of the pages and also comes with<br />

a removeable protective acetate jacket. This is a fabulous book that ably illustrates how a true gentleman<br />

2920. "BULLET HOLES" BY DOUGLAS B. WESSON This is a hardcover 1915 edition by Smith &<br />

Wesson which has a dark green binding with gold and black embossed printing on the front cover. The<br />

book is 80 pages in length and is both a compendium of U.S.R.A. and international shooting records (both<br />

team and individual) as well as a sales brochure for Smith & Wesson. The book is in excellent condition with<br />

some minor separations starting to show on the spine and a small amount of age toning, mostly along the<br />

edges of the pages. These books are not easy to find in good shape and this example would make a nice<br />

1932 reprint by MacMillan of the classic book and has a mustard-yellow cover with embossed black<br />

printing and design on the front cover. The book is 240 pages in length and is full of information and illus-<br />

trations regarding all aspects of competitive and police handgun shooting. The book is in near excellent condition with some minor surface wear<br />

around the edges and the paper has a dark brown toning that has formed around the borders. This is a fantastic book and a must-have for any<br />

2922. "ED MCGIVERN'S BOOK OF FAST AND FANCY REVOLVER SHOOTING - ANNIVERSARY EDITION" This is the<br />

1984 reprint by the Winchester Press and has a tan cloth binding with embossed printing on the spine. The book is 484 pages in length and has<br />

extensive illustrations showing McGivern at work. The book is in excellent overall condition and comes complete with the original paper dust jacket.<br />
