2368. NICE BATTY PEACE FLASK Nice looking 8” brass bodied flask with dual sided motif showing elongated eagle over
clasped hands and twelve pointed rayed decor surrounded by twenty stars over U.S. marked shield with double draped flags
and blaze of arms. Equipped with a common top dated 1847, a three position adjustable charger, single hangers and the 2368
seams remain tight and intact. The body shows a couple of light dings here and there but retains most of its nicely darkened
brass finish. The brass collar and charger show a lightly mellowed brass finish which has darkened with age as well.
The collar and top are marked with a small, “CB”. Similar to Rilings No. 861, a nice Batty classic in very good condition
overall. (1720-39A)
2369. EARLY 19TH CENTURY HORSEMANS' SABER This saber measures 37 1/4” overall with a 32 1/2” curved,
single-edged blade having wide single fullers. The steel has many spots of dark pitting along both sides with some original,
bright polish peeking out from in between the dark patches. The short ricasso is unmarked and joins up with a
Germanic-style brass hilt with straight crossguard, single forward swept quillon, reverse-P guard, and a dove pommel
with backstrap. The brass has developed a dark ocher-brown patina overall which has more yellow metal along the
crossguard, quillon, and ferrule. The smooth wooden grip has a large drying crack on the obverse side. A fragment
of the original, heavily flaked leather scabbard accompanies the saber which has the original brass throat and middle
band remaining. The brass has turned almost black over time. This is a nicely made horseman's saber in about
good overall condition. (3148-7) (175/375)
2370. YUGOSLAVIAN M48 BOLT ACTION RIFLE serial #M1968, 8mm Mauser, 24” barrel with a very
good bore. This importer marked rifle retains about 97% arsenal added blue finish with
mostly matching numbers and the floor plate renumbered to the rifle. The stock
is in excellent condition. A nice serviceable rifle perfect for the range.
(3346-D23538) {C&R} (175/275)
2371. U.S. MILITIA OFFICERS' KEPI BY WANAMAKER
& BROWN This is a dark blue felt crowned, chasseur-style kepi
(2 1/4” high at the front) which has an embroidered bullion “62 (in
wreath)” at the front of the crown and a white felt shamrock with
embroidered bullion border in the center of the top disk; ostensibly a U.S.
II Corps, 2nd Division unit badge but since this kepi post-dates the war, the badge may have had
a different state militia or veterans' group connotation (a cursory check of records can find no
unit with the number 62 having been attached to the 2nd Division of II Corps). The blue felt
is in fine shape and has only very light dust and lint ingrained within the surface nap of the
fabric which also has no insect holes and tightly stitched seams. The braided wire chinstrap
is affixed by two U.S. eagle “I” infantry buttons on either side and the short leather peak has
a tarred finish which has bubbled on both top and bottom surfaces. The interior of the kepi is
lined in dark brown silk with a large embossed Wanamaker & Brown trademark on the top panel
as well as a lightly worn but still intact 1 1/4” wide leather comfort band around the base of the
2371
crown. This is a high quality kepi in excellent overall condition which would make a handsome display
piece. (2789-230A) (150/350)
2372. GERMAN MODEL 1916 HELMET This helmet retains 85-90% of a Reichswehr or early Wehrmacht era “apfelgrun” (apple-green) painted
finish which has minor flaking around the crown as well as on the edges of the peak and neck flare. The interior of the helmet has a large stenciled
number, “66” in black on the left side of the neck flare (which is probably a shell size marking) and has a later type, non-padded liner with a
lightly worn but intact six finger suspension web with ink-stamped size marking, “57”. The helmet has the standard M.1916 chinstrap lugs on the
inside of the neck flare but a strap is not included. This is a nice inter-war helmet in very good-fine condition overall. (2789-227L) (200/400)
2373. U.S. MODEL 1903 ARMY REVOLVER BY COLT serial #240934, 38 Long Colt, 6” barrel with a very good but lightly pitted bore.
This 1904 manufactured revolver retains traces of original fire blue with an added cold blue treatment to much of the revolver. The revolver was
not buffed prior to adding cold blue and traces of older scattered minor pitting show below the finish while all the original stampings remain sharp.
The hammer is now blued and the timing of the cylinder is a little off. The grips are smooth walnut, are pencil numbered to the revolver and are
in excellent condition. (3238-2) {C&R} (175/275)
2374. THOMPSON/CENTER THUNDER HAWK IN LINE MUZZLELOADING RIFLE serial #3348, 50 Cal, 21” barrel with a fine
bright bore. The metal surfaces retain 99% blue finish. The shallow pistol grip wood stock rates very good with a handful of light handling marks.
Included with rifle is the original factory cardboard box and cleaning jag. (3072-3) {ANTIQUE} (100/200)
2375. HARRINGTON & RICHARDSON MODEL AUTOMATIC EJECTION REVOLVER serial #1010, .32 S&W, 3” barrel with fair
bore. All metal surfaces retain 85% original nickel finish with pinprick pitting on right side of barrel and oxidation on cylinder and triggerguard.
Grips are checkered hard rubber with target logo. (3474-197) (150/250)
2376. LOT OF HK MOD.300 MAGAZINES This lot contains three 22 WMR magazines. All three have a blue finish and are in like new condition.
The first is the five round model, the other two are the 15 round style. (3157-9C)
2377. WESTERN BOX OF 38 S&W AMMUNITION This full cardboard box with green top
and side labels contain 50 rounds of 38 S&W Special cartridges. The top label remains 99%
intact having light scuffs and darkened slightly with age. The side labels remain 98% intact with
light scuffs mainly around the edges. The cover remains hinged on one end. The ammunition
rates near excellent with lightly mellowed brass cases.
(3496-3B)
2378. WINCHESTER BOX OF .30
WINCHESTER 1894 AMMUNITION
This full two-piece cardboard box with orange
2378
top and side labels contain twenty rounds of
Winchester Model 1894 Soft Point cartridges
2377
AMOSKEAG
“(same as .30-30 smokeless)”, 170 grain bullets for “Winchester, Marlin and Savage Rifles”. The
label has date of 10-17 and remains 98% intact with lightly scuffed edges and staining. The box
rates good with two separated corners on cover, light age stains and bullet wear marks on bottom
of box. (3496-4D)
