<strong>AMOSKEAG</strong> SALE NO. 76 84 2556. LOT OF CAST BULLETS This lot contains one box of Berry's MFG .40 diameter lubed cast lead bullets. These bullets were cast for the 38-40 cartridge and 180 grain Round Nose. The box originally contained 250 rounds, but is open and the actual amount is unknown. There is also a box of 50 rounds of .360 diameter bullets marked 38 Stevens. Their weight and alloy are unknown. (3128-4E) 2557. SWAGING DIE This lot contains a swaging die and cast bullets for a Whitworth bore. Made by Nance Tool and Die, Inc, it appears to be in excellent condition. Included, are twelve, swaged 50 caliber bullets. (3128-4F) 2558. LOT OF CAST BULLETS This lot contains about 240 assorted 40 caliber cast lead bullets. One box contains about 100 245 grain FP by Green Bay Bullets. Another is a box of 40 365 grain PTPP by Liberty. The rest are in mixed containers and vary in style and alloy as well. (3128-4G) 2559. LOT OF CAST BULLETS This lot contains about 50 assorted .457 diameter cast lead bullets for the Ruger Old Army revolver. One box contains 190 grain Buffalo Bullets, while the other's is an unknown alloy and weight, but may have been made from a Lee SWC mould. (3128-4H) 2560. LOT OF CAST BULLETS This lot contains three boxes of commercially made 50 caliber cast bullets. Each box contains 45 rounds. One box has 440 grain RNFP, the next has 450 grain RN with a paper patch, and the third has 535 grain FPPP. All are in excellent condition. (3128- 4I) 2561. LOT OF CAST BULLETS This lot contains about 130 assorted 40 caliber cast lead bullets. One box contains an unmarked cast paper patch bullet, while the other two are commercially cast by Lyman. The first is a 400 grain Schmittzer, while the other is a 400 grain Snover. (3128-4J) 2562. LOT OF CAST BULLETS This lot contains 210 rounds of assorted 44 caliber cast lead bullets in five boxes. All have been commercially cast by Montana Precision Swaging. The sizes are as follows: 550 grain Cup Base Tapered Paper Patch, 520 grain RN, 500 grain Cup Base Tapered Paper Patch, and 485 grain FN. (3128-4K) 2563. LOT OF CAST BULLETS This lot contains 240 rounds of assorted 38 caliber cast lead bullets. All have been commercially cast by Montana Precision Swaging. There are six boxes total with two sizes, 249 grain FN and 255 grain FN. (3128-4L) 2564. LOT OF CAST BULLETS This lot contains 305 rounds of 40 caliber cast lead bullets. All have been commercially cast by Montana Precision Swaging. There are seven boxes total and all are 260 grain RN. (3128-4M) 2565. LOT OF CAST BULLETS This lot contains 160 rounds of assorted 40 caliber cast lead bullets. All have been commercially cast by Montana Precision Swaging. There are four boxes total with two sizes, 265 grain RN and 370 grain RN. All are designed to be used with a straight sided paper patch. (3128-4N) 2566. LOT OF CAST BULLETS This lot contains three boxes of about 110 rounds of assorted 40 caliber cast lead bullets. They have been commercially cast by two companies. The first two were made by Buffalo Arms Co. and have 98 rounds of 400 grain swaged Creedmore bullets. The third box has 12 rounds of 350 grain PTFP made by Liberty. There is also a small bag with four rounds of 300 grain bullets made with a NEI mould. (3128-4P) 2567. LOT OF CAST BULLETS This lot contains about 100 rounds of assorted 43 caliber cast lead bullets. There are two boxes of commercially made bullets. The first is marked 500 grain RN while the second is marked 335 grain RN. (3128-4Q) 2568. LOT OF CAST BULLETS This lot contains 22 diameter rounds of assorted jacketed and cast lead bullets for the 22 Savage. The jacketed bullets are made by Hornady and are 100 rounds of 70 grain Spire Point. The cast bullets appear to be various sizes and may have been cast by Lyman moulds. (3128-4R) 2569. LOT OF CAST BULLETS This lot contains two boxes of assorted 50 caliber cast lead bullets. All are hand cast and no weights or alloys are known. (3128-4S) 2570. LUFTWAFFE DAGGER This lot is a Luftwaffe 1st pattern dress dagger by Paul Weyersberg & Co. This dagger measures 17 7/8” overall with a 12 1/4” straight, double edged blade. The blade is marked with the maker's logo, and it appears to have been re-plated at some point in its life. The blade also has been sharpened and there are several light tool marks throughout. The hilt fittings are plated silver, which is mostly tarnished to a blue-black and has a light gray patina. The blue morocco grip is moderately scuffed and is worn to the wood in some spots, but the braided aluminum wire is intact. The scabbard has light tarnish and tool marks on the fittings, and none of the blue morocco is left on the body. The body is a solid black with moderate handling wear on one side. One of the chain hangers is missing along with most of the chain. Overall this dagger is in very good to excellent condition. (3399-4) 2571. JAPANESE SWORD This lot contains one Japanese Katana that is unassembled and is about 33 1/2” overall. Included is the blade, tsuba, seppa, ho, and wood saya. This sword is not complete and is missing several key parts to make it functional. The blade appears to have been made during WWII and is in excellent condition with no fatal flaws noted. The two piece scabbard is in excellent condition as well and is held together with three metal bands. This would make an excellent project or restoration for the amateur sword maker. (3278-22) (200/400) 2572. LOT OF HOLSTERS This lot contains four leather holsters. Included are two black and two brown belt holsters, and all appear to be for revolvers. There is a black Hunter holster for a 6” medium frame, a brown Challenger 1C to fit up to a 5” large frame, a black Courtlandt clamshell holster for a 4” medium frame, and a brown Infallible to fit a 4” medium frame. They are all in excellent condition, with the last one being moderately crazed and having a floral print stamping. (3278-25) 2573. LOT OF SWORDS this lot contains two M1860 Staff and Field Officer's style dress swords in very good condition. The first is 35” long with a 30” long double edged blade. The blade has a dark gray-brown patina, and is etched on both sides with “US” on the reverse. There is no manufacture's or origin mark on the blade, and it has been sharpened. It has a brass hilt but is missing the leather wrap and braided wire around the grip. The second is 28” overall with a 22 1/2” double edged blade that is bent at the tip. There is no etching on this gray-brown patina blade, but is lightly stamped “Germany” on the ricasso. The grip is also cast brass, but has the leather and wire wraps around the grip. Both of these appear to be reproduction swords, and neither have scabbards. But both are of very good quality. (3278-7) (100/200) 2574. US 1860 CAVALRY SABER This lot contains one Model 1860 US Cavalry Saber made by C. Roby of West Chelmsford, MA and includes a steel scabbard. It is 41” overall with a 35” blade and is dated 1864. The ricasso is stamped “US / 1864 / A.G.M.” The blade has a moderate mottled gray patina and has several tool marks down the edge. The blade is also unsharpened but is bent at the tip. The brass grip has a misshaped guard and shows evidence of being repaired. The guard also sits loose on the blade, but the leather pad is intact. The grip is missing the wire wrap, and the leather is heavily cracked and crazed. The brass has varying tarnish throughout. The steel scabbard is moderately pitted with a rich brown patina. The scabbard has several dings, but the hanger rings are intact. This sword is in very good condition overall and is a good, honest example of a Civil War Cavalry Saber. (3278-6) (300/500)
<strong>AMOSKEAG</strong> SALE NO. 76 2575. GERMAN M1811 BLUCHER SABER This lot contains one German model 1811 Blucher Cavalry Saber with scabbard. In very good condition overall, it is 35” long with a 30” blade. The fullered blade is bright steel with a light patina and has some minor pitting along the sides. The blade has been sharpened, and has some grease along its length. The grip has a light to moderate gray patina with moderate pitting. The heavy steel scabbard has a few minor dings and tool marks. The scabbard is a dark brown patina with light oxidation throughout. Although this model does not have any serial numbers, it is stamped with several German proof marks. (3278-5) (300/500) 2576. BRITISH 1891 PATTERN NAVAL OFFICERS SWORD This lot is a pattern 1891 Naval Officer's dress sword with scabbard. It measures 37” long with a 31” long fullered and etched blade. The blade is bright steel with some minor oxidation and light pitting in spots. The etching depicts the Crown over Anchor and Royal Coat of arms on the reverse. The ricasso has the dual triangle with brass disc stamped “aproved”. The hilt is a small gilt brass, solid half basket design, with the crowned anchor and Lion head pommel and backstrap. The grip is white ray skin with a gold wire wrap. The gold and blue sword knot is present. The back edge of the guard folds down and interlocks with the scabbard, which is a black finished, mildly crazed leather with three gilt brass fittings. The clips and buckles for the sword hanger are present but most of the assembly is missing. (3278-4) (300/500) 2577. BRITISH STYLE EAGLE HEAD SWORD This lot is a replica of a British Officers dress sword with scabbard, and measures 37” long with a 30 1/2” long blade. The blade has a gray patina and is unsharpened. The hilt is brass with a rough cast eagle's head, and is secured with a pommel nut. The grip is a rich yellow plastic with wire wrap. There are no markings or stamping noted anywhere on the sword. The scabbard is a steel cavalry style with moderate oxidation. This piece is in excellent overall condition and would make an interesting display item. (3278-3) (100/200) 2578. GERMAN ARMY DRESS DAGGER This lot contains one Third Reich Army Officer dress dagger in very good condition with scabbard. This dagger is stamped “WKC / Solingen” and has that maker's logo as well. The 14 1/2” dagger has an unsharpened, double sided 10” blade that is bright steel with minor oxidation in spots. The grip is the white celluloid variation with silver plated guard and pommel, however the celluloid is cracked showing a wood core and the plating is heavily worn in spots. The plated steel scabbard rates excellent, though much of the plating is worn away. This is a nice example dagger with the earlier style white grip. (2789-250C) 2579. GERMAN ARMY DRESS DAGGER This lot contains one Third Reich Army Officer dress dagger in excellent condition with scabbard and hanger. This 14 1/2” long dagger is etched “F.W. Holler / Solingen” circular logo and has an unsharpened, double sided 10” blade that is bright steel. The blade has very light oxidation in spots, but could be cleaned very easily. The grip is the yellow celluloid variation with silver plated guard and pommel, however the plating is worn in spots. The plated steel scabbard rates excellent as well, and has most of its silver plating intact. Included is an original D.R.G.M. hanger with the oval buckles. This is an excellent piece overall and is made even better with the presence of an original hanger. (2789-250A) 2580. GERMAN ARMY DRESS DAGGER This lot contains one Third Reich Army Officer dress dagger in excellent condition with scabbard. This dagger is stamped “Original / Eickhorn / Solingen” and has the maker's logo that dates between 1935 and 1940. The 14 1/2” dagger has a factory sharpened, double sided 10” blade that is bright steel. The grip is the solid yellow celluloid variation with silver plated guard and pommel, however the plating is worn in spots. The plated steel scabbard rates excellent, and shows some handling wear. This is an excellent example dagger showing very honest wear. (2789-250B) 2581. LOT OF TRADE KNIVES This lot contains two trade knives. The first is a Moroccan Jambiya dagger with inlaid grip and sheath. At 15” overall it has an 8” curved blade with a browned finish and ethnic scroll engraving on either side. The edge has been sharpened. The wood grip and sheath are inlaid with silver and have brass fittings. The second is a 15 1/2” long double edged dagger made in India. It has a wood grip and chromed fittings. The blade is 11” long and appears chrome plated as well. The scabbard is black leather with chrome plated throat and tip. Both are in excellent overall condition. (3376-2) 2582. ANTIQUE BOWIE KNIFE This lot consists of one antique bowie knife with horn grip panels and a leather sheath. At 12 1/2” long it has an 8 1/2” long clip point blade. The blade has a rich dark gray patina with light oxidation, but no maker's mark on the sides or ricassos. The guard is solid copper that has several tool marks and light verdigris. The grip panels are an aged light colored horn with three copper pins. The letter “B” has been carved into both sides. The brown leather sheath is lightly crazed, and has stamping down either side of the front. The belt loop is missing. This is an excellent condition knife, and although there is no information available for it, it appears to be very old. (3072-44) 2583. TOMAHAWK PIPE This lot is a classic reproduction of an Native American Icon. At 18” long it has a 7” long head with a 2 1/2” long blade face that has a false edge. The edge appears to be a hardened steel while the main metal of the head appears to be stainless, as well as the fitting and inlays. The head is engraved on both sides one with a character, the other with a bow, arrow, and drum. The bowl measures about 7/8” and is dark with some ash residue. The handle / pipe portion of this hawk is a striped hardwood and is finished in a medium maple or cherry finish. The handle is shaped to look like a leg, with the pipe ending in a foot, and holes at the toes, and base of the foot. This is an interesting piece, although not a authentic pipe, it is neat to look at. (2923-92) 2584. LOT OF HOLSTERS This lot contains two black leather holsters. The first is a swivel type holster and fits a 6” barrel full size S&W 38 Spl. The retention strap is missing the closure snap, but it is otherwise excellent condition. The second is a drop style belt holster and would fit a variety of large double action and blackpowder revolvers. The leather is lightly crazed but it is in very good condition. Neither is marked with a manufacture or size, and could be homemade. (3128-14G) 2585. LOT OF CAST BULLETS This lot contains various cast bullets both in size and quantity. Included are four .56 caliber solid base minnie balls, 23 .56 ribbed conical bullets, 13 .52 caliber Sharps minnies, 46 .52 caliber minnies made for a Spencer Rifle, eight .44 caliber Round Nose, 35 .40 caliber Round Nose and PSP, 20 .44 caliber HB FP, 25 .36 caliber Round Nose, 45 .40 caliber RN FP, 15 .44 caliber FP, 20 .45 Round Nose, 12 .45 caliber RN FP, 12 .45 RN FP. All are packed in various boxes, and no weights or alloys are known. (3128-4T) 2586. LOT OF HORNADY ROUND BALLS This lot contains two boxes of Hornady round balls. The first are .535, and the second is a .520. Each box is marked 100 rounds, but both are open and the exact count is not known. (3128-4U) 2587. ANTIQUE GLASS DISPLAY BOX This lot contains one antique glass box measuring 12 1/2” long by 6” wide by 2 1/2” tall, and has a hinged top. The glass is occluded and is held together with a soldered tin frame. The frame is adorned in the corners with stamped tin floral type. The box has a tin base. The inner sections of the frame have some minor oxidation, but this piece is in excellent condition otherwise. This would make a great display for the mantel or for any prized possession.
