<strong>NEWS</strong>Connected to your communityTrailwest hosting community-wide garage saleGroup hopes to boost association membership, raise funds for summer festivalVisit us Online atyourottawaregion.comJessica Cunhajessica.cunha@metroland.comEMC news - The Trailwest CommunityAssociation is hosting two events this summerto give residents a chance to get toknow one another and boost membershipfor the new group.The association represents the fast-growingcommunities of Bridlewood Trails andTrailwest in south Kanata.A community-wide garage sale beingheld on June 1, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., is achance for residents not only to clear somespace in their homes but also an opportunityto get to know their neighbours, saidassociation president Phil Aldis.“We’ve had many very positive compliments… about how wonderful a communityit is, with everyone feeling connectedand safe because of the ongoing communicationwe’ve had,” said Aldis, adding allresidents are encouraged to take part in theevent. “We’d love to continually build uponit.”A barbecue featuring breakfast and lunchitems, as well as baked goods, will be heldat the south corner of Carronbridge Circle,with the funds raised going to the communityassociation for future events and maintainingthe group.“It’ll also be a great opportunity for residentsof Trailwest to stop by and pick uptheir membership card,” said Aldis. “Themembership card identifies that they’re aSUBMITTEDResidents of Trailwest in south Kanata take part in some spring cleaning on May18. The group disposed of 50 bags of trash, old tires and wooden pallets. TheTrailwest Community Association is hosting a community-wide garage sale onJune 1 and has plans in the work for a summer festival.resident of the Trailwest community.
