During this same timeframe,the use of other hallucinogens stayed approximately the same.ECSTASY ADDICTIONEcstasy is mostly used as a recreational drug and is considerednot as addictive as drugs like cocaine, methamphetamine, orheroin. However, there is growing evidence that Ecstasy canindeed become addictive if taken repeatedly. Repeat Ecstasyusers often report that they develop tolerance to its effects andrequire higher doses to achieve the same high as previouslyexperienced. In addition, some heavy Ecstasy users reportintense cravings for the drug when they have not taken it for afew days. However, since Ecstasy is a relatively new drug and isoften abused in combination with other drugs like heroin andalcohol, specific treatment programs for Ecstasy addiction arenot well established.
