32.11 Distant engagement<strong>Broadcasting</strong> <strong>and</strong> <strong>Recorded</strong> <strong>Entertainment</strong> <strong>Award</strong> <strong>2010</strong>(a)(b)(c)When an employee is required to carry out duty at any place other than thetransmitting station or the studios, the employee must be reimbursed the cost ofa taxi or other reasonable means of conveyance. The provisions of this clausedo not apply when the employer provides such travel.Where an employee is normally employed at the studios or at the transmitter<strong>and</strong> is required to perform temporary duties at a place other than theemployee’s normal place of duty, the employee must be paid the actual excesstravelling costs involved.Where an employee is normally employed at the studios or at the transmitter<strong>and</strong> is required to perform temporary duties at a place other than theemployee’s normal place of duty, the employee must be paid an allowanceequal to the normal rate of pay for all time spent travelling to <strong>and</strong> from theemployee’s normal place of duty from the time of commencing or ceasing theirrostered hours.32.12 Height allowanceEmployees engaged on work which the employer reasonably considers is work forwhich height money should be paid will be paid the following rates per shift:Height% of the st<strong>and</strong>ard rate15 metres to 50 metres 0.9351 metres to 90 metres 1.96Over 90 metres 3.2532.13 Special risks allowance(a)(b)(c)Where an employee performs any duty which would invalidate the employee’spersonal insurance policies the employer will reimburse the employee for thecost of taking out additional personal insurance. Provided that the employer hasbeen informed of the risk of invalidation before the employee undertakes theseduties.This clause will not apply where the employer indemnifies the employeeagainst any invalidation of the employee’s personal policy.If the employer notifies the employee that the employer declines to indemnifythe employee <strong>and</strong>/or their dependants, the employee may decline theassignment.32.14 Reimbursement against death or disability outside Australia(a)(b)Where an employee is required to perform any duty outside of Australia theemployer must reimburse the employee the cost of taking out insurance againstinjury or death arising from the performance of such duties. Provided that thisclause will not apply where the employer provides such insurance.Exposure(i)Where an event occurs that is not covered by the employee’s insurancepolicy in circumstances where the employer has required the insured38 MA000091
