Eric’s real estate experience datesback to 1999, encompassing positions in senior housing, property management and title insurance. He aspires to direct siteselection and acquisitions for multi-unit commercial users. Pursuing an MBA and a Graduate Real Estate DevelopmentCertificate from <strong>Portland</strong> <strong>State</strong> <strong>University</strong>, Eric holds an undergraduate degree in finance and real estate from BrighamYoung <strong>University</strong>’s Marriot <strong>School</strong> of Management.ROBERT PILERobert is the Director of Operations for TMT Development Co., Inc. overseeing approximately 8 million square feet ofreal estate ranging from high rise Class A office (such as the Fox Tower and 1000 Broadway Building) to award winningshopping centers to undeveloped raw land. He also assists with TMT’s new developments, such as the Park Avenue WestTower and Alder Park Hotel. Robert intends to continue leading TMT Development’s portfolio in an increasingly sustainableand environmentally responsible direction, while simultaneously contributing to <strong>Portland</strong>’s growing renown as a leaderin the green building movement. He graduated with a BA in both International Relations and Economics, with an emphasisin real estate, from the <strong>University</strong> of San Diego. Robert is currently a student in PSU’s Graduate Real Estate DevelopmentGraduate Program.JON WINSLOWJon is a student in <strong>Portland</strong> <strong>State</strong> <strong>University</strong>’s Graduate Real Estate Development Program. <strong>Lincoln</strong> <strong>High</strong> <strong>School</strong> <strong>Redevelopment</strong>Biographies JOHN BAYMILLERJohn Baymiller is an Urban Designer, Architect, and Design Consultant, in private practice, in <strong>Portland</strong>.He is in his third ‘Mentoring Assignment’ with these classes, thanks to vision of RE Dev.Prof. Will Macht.Previously,’ John mentored/guided RE students in the “Post Office Master Plan”, ‘08, and then, the brilliant‘First Place award-winning, NAIOP Challenge in Spring,’09, for “The Blocks at Northgate”, Seattle submission.Now, John joins this new group of students, on a new project, “The <strong>Lincoln</strong> <strong>High</strong> <strong>School</strong> <strong>Redevelopment</strong>.”John’s influence can be passed on to students because he has a 43-year, very comprehensive backgroundin urban planning and all phases of environmental design, which can be applied to the present LHS project.John’s experience in educational planning is ‘Legend.’ He has seen the relation of educational planning tothe development of master planning for cities, and has energized citizens to engage, speak-out, and connect.40 years ago, John designed a master plan for education in St. Paul, MN, and helped form the first Open <strong>School</strong>.John is an Urban Designer, Architect, and artistic Design Consultant . His experience has combined all scales,from metro, city, neighborhood, CBD centers, waterfronts and parks, transit, and all the social effects, in thinking.“John’s visionary talents have led students, cities, and regions to envision better futures, and more creative results.”WILL MACHTProfessor Will Macht has provided real estate development, management, consulting and investment services in the <strong>Portland</strong>metropolitan area for over 32 years. He is currently Associate Director of the Center for Real Estate at <strong>Portland</strong> <strong>State</strong><strong>University</strong>, where he has been Adjunct Professor of Urban Studies & Planning in the College of Urban & Public Affairsfor over 30 years, teaching courses including development planning. Dr. Macht is also an Adjunct Professor of Architectureat the <strong>University</strong> of Oregon/<strong>Portland</strong> Center <strong>School</strong> of Architecture where he has taught courses on urban development,housing and mixed-use to graduate architecture students. In these positions, as in much of his prior development experience,Dr. Macht concentrates on the types of mixed-use, public-private partnerships and retail marketplaces pioneered by theRouse Company, which he served as a Development Director.
