SH-110 Dry Scroll Vacuum PumpDRAFT 7/12/05InstallationDo not install or use the pump in an environmentexposed to atmospheric agents (rain, snow, ice), dust, aggressive gases, or in explosive environments or thosewith a high fire risk.If placing the SH-110 pump inside an enclosure, provideample room to supply ambient air to both the front andrear air intakes of the pump.During operation, the following environmentalconditions must be respected:Temperature:Relative humidity:CAUTIONConnect the pump to the power supply using an IEC-320style power cord of at least 10 A capacity.Use+5 °C to +40 °C (41 °F to 104 °F)0 to 95% (non-condensing)Be certain that your electrical mainspower voltage corresponds to that indicatedon the white tab (110 or 220)adjacent to the On/Off switch on therear of the pump.If voltage changeover is required, usea small screwdriver to remove the tabholder from the power module. Positionthe white tab so that the correct voltagefaces out and reinstall the tab holder. In order to reach maximum vacuum, the pump must beleft running for about an hour with the inlet sealed. There are no special instructions for starting the pump; itneed only be switched on using the On/Off switch. The inlet valve will open 10 seconds after the pump isstarted.MaintenancePersonnel responsible for pump operation and maintenancemust be well-trained and aware of the accidentprevention rules.WARNINGNOTE❑ Death may result from contact withhigh voltages. Always take extreme careand observe the accident preventionregulations in force.❑ When machine is powered up,be careful of moving parts and highvoltages.❑ If you have to perform maintenanceon the pump after a considerable timein operation, allow it to cool as the temperatureof the outer surface may be inexcess of 60 °C.❑ Always disconnect your powersupply to the pump before beginningmaintenance work. Before returning the pump to the factoryfor repair, the “Health and Safety” sheetattached to this instruction manual mustbe completed and sent to the local salesoffice. A copy of the sheet must beinserted in the pump package beforeshipping. If a pump is to be discarded, it must be disposed of inaccordance with specific national standards.WARNINGThe pump is designed for operationwith neutral or noncorrosive fluids. Itis absolutely forbidden to use it withpotentially explosive or inflammablesubstances. There are no special instructions for stopping the pump; itneed only be disconnected from the electric powersource by the On/Off switch. The inlet valve will close immediately after the pump isstopped.2
