Teacher’s Recruitment16. Shri. Virender Singh, Deputy Secretary, MHRD expressed concern overthe discrepancies in teachers data reporting and mentioned that theState Project Engineers/ Coordinators should collect the details fromthe concerned State coordinators and send the same to MHRD afterdue verification. In this connection he mentioned that a videoConference was held to find out the details of teacher recruitment andthe States were requested to send the details in the prescribedPerforma. Copy of performa is enclosed Annexure-XIII. Very fewStates participated in the video conference and about 20 States havesubmitted the report. They may collect the information on the postssanctioned by the State and MHRD on various types of teacherrecruitment. The total number of sanctioned posts should include theabove.17. Subsequently a presentation was made by Shri. Anurag Shukla,Consultant, TSG on ‘Structural Repairs and Rehabilitation of BuildingsNo-3’. He mentioned that the repairs & rehabilitation is based on thetype of construction i.e. based on construction method and design &supervision and explained in detail the above. He also explained indetail about how to carry out the repair & rehabilitation work invarious types of buildings, in different locations, geological conditions,factors involved, strengthening of buildings, arches, arch supportingpillars, footing & columns, walls around doors & windows, roof rafter,strengthening of foundations etc. While concluding his presentationhe cautioned that any rehabilitation work should be carried out onlywith the consent of a structural engineer who can judge which methodis suited for getting non collapse criteria for the EQ zone. Copy of thepresentation made is given in Annexure - XIV.20
18. While concluding the meeting Shri. Virender Singh, Deputy Secretary,MHRD mentioned that he want to give more emphasis on twofollowing major issues(i)All pending works especially construction of school buildings,additional classroom, provision of toilet and drinking watershould be given top priority and should be completed early.(ii) The data/information relating to the progress of works, teacherrecruitment should be sent in time and should be correct.Delay/wrong reporting should be avoided.He added that hereafter we will have two meetings in a year i.e. one atthe middle of the year to have a midterm review and another forreview of annual progress. Apart from the above video conferencesand regional meetings are also planned to review the teacherrecruitment, review of low performing/infrastructure gap States andfor sharing of experiences with best performing States. He requestedthe participants to consult the pedagogy coordinators and to providethe correct information on teacher recruitment with break up withintwo weeks. He thanked the participants for participating in the reviewmeeting and also thanked TSG consultants and staff for the smoothconduct of the meeting and making it successful.The meeting ended with vote of thanks to the chair.21
