Personal callsmay be made from the school office for a cost of $.25, which will be donated to a local charity.Students must have a teacher’s permission prior to coming to the office to make a call.8. The office is not capable of making change for money transactions in mass requests. Please sendstudent with exact change of required amount for field trips, lunches, other fees etc.,9. Public displays of affection (PDA) such as holding hands, kissing or hugging are strictlyprohibited on school grounds.10. No snowball throwing is allowed on school grounds, on the way to school and on the way homefrom school.11. The use of personal Kindles may be used for RMS related school work onlyGENERAL PENALTIESDisciplinary Explanation of ConsequencesDisciplinary measures may include, but not limited to:1. Disciplinary conference.2. Withholding of privileges.3. Suspension from school and all school activities for up to 10 days. A suspended student isprohibited from being on school grounds for the duration of the suspension.4. Suspension of bus riding privileges.5. Notifying juvenile authorities or other law enforcement whenever the conduct involves illegaldrugs (controlled substances), “look-alikes,” alcohol, or weapons.6. Notifying parents/guardians.7. Temporary removal from the classroom.8. Lunch-time detention (30 minutes)9. Detention – in school/after school (60 minutes)10. Five Hour - A 1-hour after school detention for 5 days in a row (300 minutes)11. Seizure of contraband (items that are not allowed at school/items that pose a danger to students)Discipline ProceduresWhen student disciplinary action is necessary, building staff will follow procedures set byadministration to insure the appropriate consequences are applied:Notifying parents – letter, phone, email, messagesConferences – student, teacher(s), administration, parentsCommunication of consequences and their details to studentReferral to Assistant PrincipalRecording of information into <strong>School</strong> Master – referral noticesReferral to C.I.C.O./S.A.I.G. (OSCAR/PBIS program)DETENTIONSThere are three types of detentions used at R.M.S.: noon-hour detentions, teacher-assigneddetentions, and after school detentions assigned by a principal. When a detention is warranted, the studentwill receive at least 24 hours notice. According to the assistant principal’s discretion, any un-serveddetention for what is deemed an unacceptable reason will result in one or more of the following: a noonhourdetention, after-school detention or out-of-school suspension.
