Repeated Minor Behaviors/Accumulation of Offenses –( 5 referrals in a nine week period)GROSS DISRESPECTStudents who confront staff members in a defiant manner or make disrespectful gestures orcomments, who challenge authority, who defy directives, and who argue with a teacher at any time willbe considered acting in a grossly disrespectful manner. Gross disrespect is a serious problem and will bedealt with harshly. Occurrences of this nature may lead to an out-of-school suspension for a number ofdays to be determined by the principal. A parent conference must be held prior to the student returning toschool. All students should follow the directives of staff members. If the student feels he/she has alegitimate complaint, he/she should make an appointment with the principal to discuss the problem.BULLYING / HARRASSMENT OF STUDENTSNo person, including a district employee or agent, or student, shall bully, harass, or intimidate anotherstudent based upon a student’s sex, color, race, religion, creed, ancestry, national origin, physical ormental disability, sexual orientation, or other protected group status. The school will not tolerateharassing or intimidating conduct, whether verbal, physical, social, or visual (including electronic formsof bullying, ie., Facebook, IM messaging, Instagram or any other social media) that affects tangiblebenefits of education, that unreasonably interferes with a student’s educational performance, or creates anintimidating, hostile, or offensive educational environment.
