Idon’t think ei<strong>the</strong>r <strong>of</strong> us has had anopportunity to give it a look see.<strong>The</strong>re were brief talks by JohnLea and Jon Sauer and <strong>the</strong>n SteveWhite as <strong>the</strong> president <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> OrnamentalTurners International tookover for <strong>the</strong> rest <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> evening. David Springettsarrow piercing a glass apple.To do this project, David tookan arrow that was already made upthat <strong>the</strong> tip would not enter <strong>the</strong> hole.He brought a cup <strong>of</strong> water to a boiland stuck <strong>the</strong> tip <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> arrow in itfor a bit and <strong>the</strong>n squeezed <strong>the</strong> tipuntil it was down to <strong>the</strong> thickness<strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> shaft. He inserted <strong>the</strong> arrowthrough <strong>the</strong> two holes in <strong>the</strong> glassapple. As <strong>the</strong> arrow tip cooled, itexpanded back to its original shapeand could no longer be removedfrom <strong>the</strong> apple.It was an interesting set <strong>of</strong>demonstrations and took care <strong>of</strong>Friday afternoon.Mildred and I came toge<strong>the</strong>ragain and had dinner at <strong>the</strong> littlediner on <strong>the</strong> ground floor. It was nota fantastic dinner, but was much lessexpensive that a dinner at <strong>the</strong> hotelwould have been. We <strong>the</strong>n spentsome time in <strong>the</strong> Instant Gallery and<strong>the</strong>n attended <strong>the</strong> Ornamental TurnersInternational meeting.
