<strong>Michael</strong> Werner<strong>Michael</strong> Werner is a localwoodturner and artist, who is a fulltime teacher in <strong>the</strong> shop area <strong>of</strong> alocal school. Several years ago, Itaught a class on <strong>the</strong> skew chisel and<strong>Michael</strong> attended <strong>the</strong> class. <strong>The</strong> nextmonth he brought many skew turnedpieces to <strong>the</strong> club meeting. He hasmoved forward significantly sincethat time. One <strong>of</strong> his specialties isOff-Center/Multi-Center turnings.He said that recently he has returnedto doing some spindle work and thatwas <strong>the</strong> class I attended. <strong>The</strong> demowas called Crisp It Up! or BetterDetailed Turnings. I had to leavebefore <strong>the</strong> demonstration was overso that I didn’t get a final shot <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong>piece he was demonstrating. Bottom portion <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong>sample piece that <strong>Michael</strong> wasturning.<strong>Michael</strong> has become a verygood demonstrator in <strong>the</strong> some 10years that I’ve know him.<strong>Michael</strong> <strong>Mocho</strong>On Sunday morning, I sat inon <strong>Michael</strong> <strong>Mocho</strong>’s demonstration<strong>of</strong> “How to Hot Rod Your La<strong>the</strong>.”<strong>Michael</strong> is a full time turner in <strong>the</strong>Albuquerque area and does a greatdeal <strong>of</strong> different things.In this demonstration, he talksabout ways to customize and improve<strong>the</strong> performance <strong>of</strong> your la<strong>the</strong>with simple modifications, accessories,and innovative attachments thatwill greatly expand your creativecapabilities and help you work withmaximum efficiency and enjoyment.Apparently, <strong>Michael</strong> makes a goodmany <strong>of</strong> his tools and accessories.
