Since 1998 he is pr<strong>of</strong>essor <strong>of</strong> Politicsat the Department <strong>of</strong> Political and AdministrativeStudies at the <strong>University</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Namibia</strong>. From 2001to 2003 he held the post <strong>of</strong> Dean <strong>of</strong> the Faculty <strong>of</strong>Economics and Management Science. He did a Masters Degree inEducation with the <strong>University</strong> <strong>of</strong> Massachutes, and aPh.D in Political Science with Howard <strong>University</strong>, bothin the U.S.A. He served as an advisor on African currentaffairs for various black community organisations inthe Washington D.C area, between 1973 and 1975.Dr. Chirawu is co-authoring a book on regional andlocal government in <strong>Namibia</strong>. He has also writtena manuscript on policy challenges. He has heldthe position <strong>of</strong> Deputy Dean <strong>of</strong> the Faculty <strong>of</strong> Economics and ManagementScience.
