Metem measuring probes areexceptionally linear, with constant sensitivityall along the measuring range.Measuring forceThe measuring force stated is valid whenthe probe is in a horizontal position.When used in a vertical position, about0.1 N should be added to this value,to take into account the weight of themoving anchor. In probes equipped witha gaiter, the springs included have beenadjusted to take into account the elasticityof the gaiter (± 20 %).Mechanically adjustable zeropointThe possibility of adjusting the probe’szero point above the measuring movementis a valuable feature of all Metemprobes (excl. Viton is chemically inert and does notdeteriorate when exposed to cutting fluids. All probes fulfil IP65 according to BS 5490:1977 category 2.CE markingAll our measuring probes are in complete compliance with relevant regulations, including EMC directives 89/336/EEG, butare not supplied with the CE marking (components are not to be marked). As the recommended carrier frequency is only 10kHz, it is unlikely that any connected interfaces or amplifiers will display any EMC problems.However, if connected to electronic digital circuits with fast transients, the probes may act as “antennas”.
